Jumla and Rara lie northwest of Kathmandu in the remote area of Karnali. The route is very much 'off the beaten track' and affords glimpses of cultures and scenery very different from the r est of Nepal. The clear, high altitude lake is ringed with pine, spruce and juniper forests, and mirrors snowcapped Himalayan peaks. In summe r rainfall is low, ideal for trekking. In the winte r there is often snow on the ridge surrounding the lake but the autumn season trekker is rewarded with a profusion of alpine flowers. Except for the army assigned to the park, nobody has lived at the lake since the government resettled the people of Rara and Chapra when the area was declared a national park.
If you are looking for wilderness solitude and can overcome the logistical complications of the region, this trek is good choice.
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu Airport Arrival in Kathmandu Airport and then transfer to the Hotel. You will have a nice clean room with attached bathroom and 24 hrs running hot water.
Day 02:Kathmandu Sightseeing The following morning of arrival you will be taken on Sightseeing tour of the many holy temples and interesting surrounding sights of Kathmandu to show its back ground and history.
Day 03: Fly to Nepalgunj(45 min.) Day 04: Nepalgunj fly to Jumla.,45 min. Day 05:- Jumla to Jhaljhale Chaur 2900m 5 hours. Day 06:- Jhaljhale Chaur to Sinja 2440m 6 hours. Day 07:- Sinja to Gorusingha 3000m 6 hours. Day 08:- Gorusingha to Rara lake 3062m 6 hours. Day 09:- Rara lake Sight Seeing. Day 10:- Rara lake Sight Seeing. Day 11:- Bhulbhule 3130m 6 hours. Day 12:- Bhulbhule to Danfe Lagna 3000m 6 hours. Day 13:- Danfe Lagna – Jumla. Day 14:- Jumla – Nepalgunj. Day 15:- Nepalgunj - Kathmandu Fly,(45 min.) Day 16: Rest day Join the farewell dinner in the evening most probably with cultural program. Day 17: Transfer to the airport for Departure.
